 V4 Roadman Rodeo, visit to SIT Port – robotics and drone centre

The V4 Roadman Rodeo will take place in the DEPO 2015 creative zone venue on 5 October 2023. This year marks the 7^th edition of the event where each Visegrad 4 country nominates three representatives for a total of 12 contestants. The tour participants will have an opportunity to watch Round 2 of the competition, including the results announcement.

The second part of the programme will focus on information technology and we will visit institutions that have been significantly successful.

 SIT Drones presentation

SIT Drones are operated by the Information Technology Administration of the City of Pilsen. The City of Pilsen is the first Czech municipality to have obtained the permission to employ unmanned aircraft through this institution’s effort. Currently a part of the Integrated Rescue System, the unit completes more than 100 real deployments annually, assisting in tackling fires, building emergencies, missing person searches, traffic accidents, etc. We seek solutions where the use of drones brings efficiency, such as inspecting bridge structures, identifying trees attacked by the bark beetle, etc.

Presentation of the Robotics Centre

The Robotics Centre is part of PINE (Pilsen INnovation Ecosystem) and offers technology-oriented leisure time education for children aged 6–15. It also works towards improving the quality of education at the city’s primary and middle schools, of which there are a total of 26 in Plzeň. Both efforts contribute towards enhancing children’s interest in technology-oriented fields and improving the quality of teaching.
