TV 16 – The Forest Road Network managed by the Czech University of Life Sciences

The Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CULS) manages forested land for the purpose of its students’ study programmes and its research projects. This continuous forest complex, covering around 6,900 ha, lies roughly 35 km southeast of the centre of Prague, and is managed by the specially established forest enterprise Lesy ČZU (CULS Forests), headquartered at the castle in Kostelec nad Černými lesy. The transport infrastructure on this land includes 72.5 km of forest roads for shipping out timber, along with countless other trails used for skidding and hauling cut trees from forest stands to landings.
Programme of the visit:
09.00 – 10.00 | transfer from the Prague Congress Centre to Jevany – start of the visit |
10.00 – 10.45 | introductory commentary at the Lesy ČZU site, refreshments |
10.45 – 13.15 | tour of the forest roads, transfer to the Lesy ČZU headquarters located in the Kostelec nad Černými lesy castle |
13.15 – 15.00 | final discussion, refreshments, castle tour, end of the programme |
15.00 – 16.00 | transfer from Kostelec nad Černými lesy to the Prague Congress Centre |
